[The Hwankyung Ilbo] A new Director General-Level organization, which is wholly responsible for finding and promoting renewable eco-friendly energy such as solar and wind power, is being created.

Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that the establishment of New-Renewable Energy Policy Bureau that is in charge of eco-friendly energy policy was decided at the Cabinet meeting on February 13.

It is expected that this measure will reinforce the supply of new & renewable energy and the ‘Implementation Plan for the 3020 Renewable Energy’ announced in December last year.

Four divisions will be established under the New & Renewable Energy Policy Bureau and they will take charge of eco-friendly energy policies such as solar and wind power, development of new energy industries, and operation and management of energy efficiency systems.

The new bureau will carry out regulation improvement in order to intensively foster eco-friendly energy and support medium and long-term R&D.

Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy and Minister of the Interior and Safety said, "We sought to improve the efficiency of related organizations in order to actively promote renewable energies and energy conversion policies.”
