[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Ministry of Environment announced that the Minister of Environment, Kim Eun-kyung and Minister of Environment and Water Resources of Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding on environmental cooperation such as the water industry and climate change response, following the summit held in Singapore on July 12.

The Memorandum of Understanding covers the promotion of cooperation projects in water industry and technology cooperation, response to air pollution and climate change, waste management and implementation of sustainable development goals.

Prior to signing, Minister Kim Eun-kyung and Minister Masajo Zukhipri discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding.

In particular, Minister Kim Eun-kyung emphasized the need to cooperate with ASEAN member countries in advancing joint water industries in developing countries, responding to air pollution and climate change, and managing waste, through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.

The Ministers shared recognition on the importance of international cooperation and agreed to cooperate closely with the Ministry of Environment in both countries. After introducing Singapore's efforts to combat climate change, Minister Masajou Zuckwipley said he will do his best to cooperate with Korea, such as human exchange and joint research in the field of environment between the two countries.
