[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Environment announced that it has recently taken off 14 products from 14 companies from the market that have exceeded the standards for harmful substances or have not been subjected to self-inspection.

These products are products designated as dangerous products according to the Act on the Registration and evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances.

The Ministry of Environment investigated the compliance of these 14 products with safety and labeling standards, and confirmed that 13 of these products were distributed without self-inspection.

Product of concern over risks should be self-inspected to confirm compliance with hazardous materials safety standards before market distribution, and should be marked on the product with the self-inspection number to be given when passing the inspection.

The Ministry of Environment has completed the prohibition of sales and recall orders for the 14 companies that produce and import these products through the provincial environmental office on July 24.

The Ministry of Environment will continue to monitor the market for products that violate safety and labeling standards, which may harm consumers' health, and intensify safety surveys.
