[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Livestock disease insurance will be introduced and livestock farmers are expected to be rewarded if they suffer damage from livestock diseases. Lee Man-hee of the Liberty Korea Party initiated a partial revision of the livestock disease insurance law on December 7.

According to the law, if a livestock farmer insured, a veterinarian visits the farmhouse periodically to establish a new private livestock care system that prevents and treats diseases and animal disease insurance will be introduced to compensate livestock farmers for damages caused by livestock diseases, including support.

“The loss of livestock diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease and avian influenza, which are occurring repeatedly, is increasing, and there is a need for a private disease management system that can prevent livestock diseases in advance in order to strengthen the livestock industry base and international competitiveness due to market opening such as FTA,” said Lee Man-hee of the Liberty Korea Party. “We hope that this bill will help livestock farmers who are concerned about the worsening economic situation by preventing livestock disease and contributing to the stability and productivity improvement of livestock industry management.”
