Rapid Seed Assay (RaSAs), which was developed this time, measures the area, length, and number of seeds within 2 seconds to 3 seconds and detects poor seeds according to their form.

This technology separates the seeds that appear in the images from the background and measures the size, length, and number of seeds individually and analyzes the characteristics of seeds in real time, such as roundness or angular shapes.

As a result of measuring the area, length and number of 400 varieties of soybean genetic resources, it usually took 40 days to identify and distinguish about 40,000 grains, however, it took only 4 days when this technology was used.

Until now, the number, size, and weight have been measured by using a ruler and scales, but it can be used in real time by adding this technology to portable equipment such as cell phones and digital cameras.

The Rural Development Administration applied for a patent for the technology and plans to develop the technology to activate it in cooperation with venture companies.
