Positive List System for pesticide to be introduced from 2019

[The Hwankyung Ilbo] PLS (Positive List System) for pesticide will be implemented from January 1 of 2019.
PLS is a system that sets and manages residual acceptance criteria for agricultural chemicals registered in Korea and abroad for agricultural products, and 0.01ppm is applied uniformly for pesticides that do not have residual residual acceptance criteria, according to the government.
In December 2016, PLS was first introduced to nuts and seeds and tropical fruits to strengthen national food safety and will be expanded to all agricultural products from 2019.
The government accepted the criticism that there were insufficient agricultural chemicals available in the agricultural field and added a total of 7,018 agricultural chemicals after conducting a survey on the condition and demand.
“There will be no concerns about the rapid increase in the non-compliance rate following the implementation of the PLS due to the expansion of registered pesticide that can be used by farmers,” the government said.
