Seoul and Beijing to cooperate on fine dust measures

The ministry will cooperate with China to carry out the emergency measures in order to minimize the impact of fine dust from abroad.
When a high concentration of fine dust occurs, the two countries will share the implementation status of emergency reduction measures and jointly implement the measures. The two governments will work closely in the field of technologies for artificial rain.
The government will review the early closure of two old coal power plants.
If emergency reduction measures are in effect for three days or more, the government will restrict the use of public vehicles, and if they are issued for more than five consecutive days, additional reinforcement measures will be reviewed, including restrictions on vehicles based on the grading system.
“We will find more drastic measures and push ahead with them until the public's anxiety is resolved, and promote cooperation among all ministries,” said the environment minister said.
