[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Koo Yoon-chul, head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, held a meeting of related ministries of TF at Fukushima nuclear power plant on Friday at 2 p.m. and checked recent trends in Japan and the current status of South Korea's response.

Today's meeting was held after Japan announced its plan to release contaminated water from nuclear power plants (4.13) to find out the current status of Japan's implementation plan and to closely examine the strengthening of domestic radioactivity monitoring system.

The government is considering the current flows and peaks of the investigation period  (→ 39 of 45) peak and also expand its cycle (→ six times a year 2) based on Jeju and Namdonghae.

It will expand radioactive inspection varieties and supplies for domestic fisheries products and strengthen production history management. The government is conducting 2,500 inspections annually, focusing on some 40 species of non-conservative and conciliatory fish, and has established a system for monitoring history.

As for imported fisheries products, the government has strengthened the management of Japanese history and crackdown on origin, expanded the number of restaurants marked, and raised the standard for imposing fines on non-origin-denominated fines.

"The government should be aware of the public's concerns and anxiety over the issue of contaminated water at nuclear power plants and do its best to protect the safety and health of our oceans," said Koo Yoon-chul, head of the department.
