[Hwankyung Ilbo] Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water, President Yoon Seok-dae) held a New Year's business report on the morning of the 4th and materialized an action plan to leap forward as a global innovative water company by solving water problems in the era of climate crisis and creating new water values.

Following last year's declaration of a new vision of 'a global water company leading the response to the climate crisis' after setting the direction for innovation in business and management from the perspectives of the people, the country, the region, and the company, the Korea Water Resources Corporation will focus on strategy implementation this year, discussing the realization of five priority tasks and resolving to leap higher by taking 2024 as the year of implementation to achieve the new vision.

First, to ensure the safety and happiness of the people and ease their worries about water, they decided to focus their efforts on expanding water, which is the core of the country's health and dimensions.

Second, create a clean and safe water environment and manage it scientifically.

Third, they promised to expand the development and supply of renewable energy using water to resolve green trade barriers faced by exporters and contribute to the realization of national carbon neutrality.

Next, they plans to realize a digital transformation so that all these areas of water management can be managed based on digital technology.

Korea Water Resources Corporation's digital water management technology has already been widely recognized around the world, including the establishment of a digital twin for water management in the Five Rivers Basin, and the Hwaseong AI Water Treatment Plant was selected as a 'global lighthouse' by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Based on these technologies, they will build a digital water management innovation center and launch a convergence platform to create a foundation for a scientific water management decision-making system and provide high-quality services to the public.

Finally, they vowed to become a world-class water company by enhancing digital water management technology, advanced water treatment technology, innovating the water industry ecosystem and leading the carbon neutrality agenda in response to the climate crisis.

The main goal is to commercialize water management systems and digital technologies and explore overseas markets by using the Digital Twin platform, which will be exported to Saudi Arabia in 2024, as a success model.
