[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Special Act on Fine Dust has passed the National Assembly plenary session, and comprehensive measures for fine dust will be implemented at the government level.

The Special Act on Fine Dust will make it possible to establish a special fine dust committee under the Prime Minister, to establish comprehensive fine dust management and implementation plan, and to strengthen international cooperation on fine dust.

Environmental groups have welcomed the passing of the Special Act on Fine Dust, but have urged swift passage of relevant legislation still pending in the National Assembly.

Korea Federation for Environmental Movements said, "With the passage of the special law, the ruling party and opposition parties have to recognize that the issue of fine dust is not a matter of struggle, and it is our hope that the National Assembly will take the lead in solving the fine dust problem.”
