The number of schools that exceeded the indoor radon standard by region was ▷ Gangwon-do, the largest number of schools with 17 ▷ 12 in Jeollabuk-do ▷ 7 in Chungcheongbuk-do ▷2 in Jeollanam-do ▷ 1 in Seoul, Daejeon and Gyeonggi-do.

“Radon is a Category 1 carcinogen that can seriously threaten children's health,” said Rep. Shin Yong-hyun. “Government authorities, including the Ministry of Education, should actively work to solve the radon problem in the classroom.”
