Space environment refers to various electromagnetic phenomena appearing on Earth and space by solar activity such as sunspot explosion.

It is becoming more and more important to provide fast and accurate space environment alert & forecast services in the 4th industrial revolution and space development era as a change in the space environment can cause damage in various fields such as satellite, aviation, navigation, communication and electric power.

Real-time forecasts of space environment issued by the forecaster are provided through Korean Space Weather Center homepage, mobile app, and e-mail.

“It’s been six years since the launch of the space environment alert and forecast service in 2011, and the service capability has been improved enough to introduce the real-name system,” said the National Radio Research Agency. “We will strive to lead the space environment alert and forecast service in Asia through continuous improvement of the service accuracy as well as the real-name system of the forecaster.”
