[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Korea Energy Agency announced participant recruitment for a project aiming to encourage the electric vehicle charging service industry, which will provide a portion of charger installation costs for private EV charging companies.

This project, which is implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, supports private charger operators who have secured installation sites such as gas stations, convenience stores, franchises, restaurants, and coffee shops.

It supports 200 units of fast charger for common use, maximum 20 million won, up to 50% of installation cost per unit.

This project has the advantage that the private parking space can be utilized, which is already owned by the private business operator, without expanding additional space. Accessibility is also high because it is installed in a convenience facility.

"We hope that this project, which will expand the charging infrastructure in a location with good accessibility to the car, will contribute to the spread of electric vehicles," an official from Korea Energy Corporation said, "We will contribute to creating new business models and jobs in the energy industry."
