[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation announced that it plans to conduct a summer sanitary inspection to prevent food poisoning accidents in the Garak market so that citizens can enjoy a safe and comfortable summer.
Since 2015, the Corporation has conducted its own sanitary inspection every year and examined 1,730 cases including 224 cases (in 2015), 560 cases (in 2016) and 946 cases (in 2017). The number of inspections this year is aimed at a total of 1,000 and intensive inspection is scheduled in summer (June to September) when food poisoning accidents are likely to occur.
This summer sanitary inspection will also provide guidance and publicity on hygiene management for the Garak market merchant and local residents in order to improve sanitary consciousness.
“We plan to strengthen sanitary check jointly with related organizations to provide safe food to citizens using the market,” said an official from the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation.
