[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The National Institute of Chemical Safety under the Ministry of Environment announced that it will distribute the latest version of 'CARIS 2018' through its online site (caris.me.go.kr).

The CARIS (Chemical Accident Response Information System), which was first introduced in 2012, is a system that provides information on chemical substances and damage prediction areas to accident response organizations in the event of accidents or terrorism caused by chemical substances.

CARIS 2018 has improved reliability of the initial damage impact range of chemical accidents compared to the existing CARIS 2012, and has expanded information that can be useful in the field.

Toxic, saturation vapor pressure, and heat of combustion, the chemical information that can build damage modeling has been increased from 1,600 to 2,100.

The number of chemical substances that can search general information such as accident, fire, and ocean response has increased from the existing 5,883 species to 25,000 species.

“Through CARIS 2018, accident response agencies will be able to respond more quickly and effectively to accidents,” said an official from the National Institute of Chemical Safety.
