The proportion of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis patients is 41.3 (per 1,000 outpatients) in the 33rd week (August 12 to 18) of 2018, which is 166.5% compared to the same period of last year (the 33rd week, 24.8) and has been steadily increasing rapidly since the 30th week (July 22 to 28) of 2018.

The epidemic keratoconjunctivitis spreads easily through contact and shows an increasing tendency every fall, so continuous attention is needed at daycare centers, kindergartens and schools.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that preventive measures be followed to prevent epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, and stressed that it is important to seek medical attention from the medical institution immediately if a suspected symptom occurs.
