Compared to 2014, the production volume increased by 16.9% (54.56 million tons), import volume increased by 8.8% (26.03 million tons), exports increased by 15.5% (18.93 million tons), and total volume increased by 12.4%.

Coke, briquette and petroleum refineries accounted for 37.1 percent of the total distribution, followed by chemical and chemical products manufacturing (28.2 percent) and primary metal manufacturing (13.1 percent).

Hazardous chemicals (930 types) were distributed by 42.87 million tons (7.7 percent of total distribution), an 8.5 percent increase from 2014.

The increase was attributed to an increase in production by the oil refining industry, such as a new expansion of production facilities, an increase in imports of crude oil and petroleum products and an increase in the production of cement as a result of the revitalization of the construction industry.

"We are planning to strengthen the distribution management of national chemicals in the face of the growing volume of chemicals," said an official at the Ministry of Environment.
