[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will hold an international conference of 2018 (International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) for the rapid exchange of food safety information among Asian countries in cooperation with the World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office (WHO / WPRO) on December 11 and 12.

'INFOSAN’ international conference was established in 2011 for the purpose of sharing information quickly among Asian countries in the event of an international food safety accident.

In addition, it has strengthened information exchange and cooperation by carrying out simulations of response to food crisis situation and establishing and promoting food safety information exchange network among member countries.

The main contents of the discussion included the results of the 2018 INFOSAN food safety emergency drill, cooperation on INFOSAN activities with UK, and measures for strengthening cooperation for responding to food safety accidents.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it expects the Asia INFOSAN conference to contribute to the fast exchange of food safety information and to strengthening capacity among food safety authorities.
