[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The National Institute of Forest Science under the Ministry of Korea Forest Service held an opening ceremony on December 21 to build a research infrastructure for cutting-edge smart plantation to cope with climate change and improve the structure of human resources-oriented seed production.
This facility is composed of ICT-based automatic control greenhouse, Smart Plant Control System (IoT Sensor Integrated Management, Cloud-based Big Data), multi-purpose workplace, and high-humidity low-temperature storage.
The smart tree nursery system will collect big data by analyzing and predicting the environment suitable for the growth of forest trees, and will develop a model for growing seedlings, such as improving the quality and productivity of the trees, reducing tree damage, and shortening the period of planting trees.
The National Institute of Forest Science plans to develop advanced seedling management technologies that can manage the entire process of seedling production, such as packaging, inspection, storage, transportation, and thawing, by building a high -humidity low-temperature storage.
