[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Rural Development Administration announced its plan for 2019 on January 21 and said that it will innovate on agricultural technology with eight tasks such as smart farming and do its best to produce results that farmers and the public feel.

The eight major tasks include development of smart agriculture technology, Creation of future growth engine using agricultural science technology, expansion of technologies to cope with climate change and stable food production, expansion of safe and healthy agricultural and livestock production technology,  Expansion of competitiveness enhancement technology by item, strengthening cooperation with global agriculture technology, supporting agriculture and rural revitalization and diffusion of social agriculture support technology.

“Although agriculture and rural communities are in a difficult situation, we will do our best to help farmers and people enjoy a better life by developing and distributing farming technologies that reflect the needs of the times,” said an official of the Rural Development Administration. “We will create a driving force for innovation in our agriculture with smart farming technology that combines advanced bio-technology and digital technology and produce a result that the public can feel about.”
