[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The government reviewed the measures against damage from storm and flood through a meeting of related organizations on June 19, as most of the water management functions such as quantity and quality of water were integrated into the Ministry of Environment due to revision of the government organizing law related to unification of water management.

The meeting was held to revise the existing measures against damage from storm and flood in line with the newly changed water management system and to review the contingency plan and the cooperation system of each ministry.

In addition, the Ministry of Environment plans to set up early an emergency plan for damage from storm and flood and immediately revise the manual for storm and flood crisis to thoroughly prepare for storm surge in summer.

“The era of integrated water management has begun with the Revised Government Organization Act, and we expect that the quality of life of the people will be improved by balanced water management of water quality and quantity,” said an official from the Ministry of Environment. “We will do our best to establish a new water management system early on by working with related organizations. "
