[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The APEC Climate Center conducted the "APEC Climate Center Climate Prediction Techniques and Climate Information Service Training Course" for 17 weather and climate workers in 16 developing countries around the world from August 30 to September 5.

This training was conducted as part of the "2018 Capacity Building for Climate Services", an international curriculum for the 2018 Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS), which is being carried out by the Korea Meteorological Administration.

The international curriculum for establishing the global climate service system was opened by the Korea Meteorological Administration in 2013 and 2017, following the establishment of equipment and facilities-oriented weather prediction system in developing countries in order to provide climate information service capabilities for workers in the meteorological and climatic sectors of developing countries.

In the course of the training at the APEC Climate Center, students in developing countries learned about the main structures and elements of the Center's climate information service system, data recovery, processing and management of climate information, technologies for climate forecasting and how to establish the NFCS, a system for the production, access, transmission, and application of data and services.
