[The Hwankyung Ilbo] A measure will be taken to require a paint container to be marked with VOCs, a substance that causes fine dust and to impose fines when it is violated.
Lim Yi-ja of the Liberty Korea Party proposed a revision of the Clean Air Conservation Act, which mandates the labeling standards for VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which are fine dust particles, on paint containers.
The current law does not stipulate the labeling criteria for paint containers, with only the criteria for VOCs content of paint.
The proposed amendment to the Clean Air Conservation Act, initiated by Representative Lee Yi-ja, requires VOCs (VOCs) labeling standards for paint containers and imposes penalties of less than 2,000,000 won for violations.
