'어촌경제 새로운 활력, 어촌뉴딜300 본격 시동'

[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced a plan to follow up the ‘Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project’, which will be a new project to revitalize the fishing village by modernizing 300 fishing villages and fishing ports to promote marine tourism and to lead the innovation growth of fishing villages, on December 19.

The Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project Promotion System will be established to plan and coordinate the entire New Village New Deal 300 Project for fishing villages, to ensure the consistency of policies, and to allocate the budget efficiently.

In addition, the government plans to organize and operate a Fishing Village New Deal 300 Committee (tentative name), which is a deliberative body of ministries and agencies, in order to provide comprehensive package support for interagency projects.

A 'Fishing Village New Deal Advisory Group’ consisting of experts from various fields will be assigned to each site in order to provide project support and plan development.

To create decent jobs, local governments will be required to submit project plans, including 'job creation plans' that correspond to local characteristics and project contents.

“We will successfully develop the fishing village into a good residential space and leisure space through the Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project,” said the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries.
