[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Sixteen private organizations related to renewable energy, including the Climate Change Center, declared the establishment of a ‘Day of Renewable Energy’ at COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul on October 23.

The establishment of the renewable energy day is significant in that it was led by the private sector, not by the government, to raise social awareness of the need for renewable energy.

‘Day of Renewable Energy’ was established as a goal to help the public, as an energy consumer, to act on their own to solve energy problems and to actively respond to climate change.

This is the achievement in more than a year since the New and Renewable Energy Association Spring Conference in April last year first proposed the establishment of a renewable energy day.
